This project involved a complete transformation of a 100-year-old home in Toronto’s Davisville neighbourhood, combining a full interior rebuild with a thoughtfully designed rear addition.

The original structure was taken down to its essential shell. We preserved only the front and side exterior brick walls, while the entire interior was fully gutted and rebuilt from the ground up. Every major system in the home was replaced, including a new HVAC system, updated electrical and plumbing infrastructure, full spray foam insulation throughout the basement, main floor, and second floor, and a new roof. The project also included extensive custom millwork and high-quality finishing throughout the home.

On the main floor, all load-bearing walls were carefully removed and replaced with structural support to create a spacious open-concept layout. A distinctive arched opening between the kitchen and dining room adds architectural character while maintaining flow between spaces. This level also includes a newly added powder room, mudroom, and a custom fireplace, bringing both functionality and warmth to the living space.

The second floor layout was completely reimagined. Originally configured with three bedrooms and a single bathroom, the new design now features four bedrooms, a shared bathroom, and a primary suite with its own ensuite bathroom and walk-in closet. A dedicated laundry room was also added to improve everyday convenience.

The result is a carefully rebuilt home that preserves the character of its original exterior while delivering the comfort, performance, and functionality of a modern custom residence.
